Homecoming 2014

Our local high school had its annual homecoming football game today. Where I grew up homecoming was not a big deal. In Westport, the kids go all out. I don't know how the administration builds morale like they do but Staples High School kids love their school and love a reason to party.

Oh and of course we won the game!

All I Want For Xmas Is...

My 7 year old niece lost her two front teeth! 

I asked her if it was hard to eat now and she said, 

"No, I can still eat Oreos".

Back To School

Tomorrow's weather is going to be 83 degrees with abundant sunshine and low humidity.

 And it's the first day of school. Grrr!

No more football in The Sound

No more lazy afternoons on the pond

No more pool parties

No more strolling along the beach

No more kayaking to Cockenoe Island just because it's there

No more water slides

and no more walks after sunset because there is school tomorrow!

45 At Compo

 I celebrated my 45th birthday tonight at Compo Beach with some really good friends. 

It took me a long time to find such good ones but it was well worth the wait.

Happy birthday to me.

 I left the camera in the car (too busy eating cake) except to take these two shots of sun setting.

Thursday at the WFM

I went to the Westport Farmers Market last week and shot a few pics with my new lens. If you haven't been this year yet, you should really stop by. It's open every Thursday from 10-2pm and everything is organic and beautiful and so delicious. I couldn't stop trying all the free tasters!

I met Jane today of Jane's Good Food. She makes the best homemade pickles and relish. I also tried her toasted walnuts with a paprika rub and fresh rosemary- YUM! Jane told me her mom always said "eat like you mean it" and if you stop by Jane's stand, you definitely will.

I think Muddy Feet has the prettiest flowers at the Westport Farmer's Market. They are bright and wild and grown organically on a flower farm in Ashford, CT.

My favorite thing today was probably the "ice cream". It's really a hand crafted non-dairy frozen dessert because it's vegan and dairy free but I still liked it! I was VERY skeptical at first but the little girls selling it were so cute and convinced me to try it. Thank god they did because now its in my freezer 

and I can't stop eating it!
