Baseball

I finally saw for myself what people do in Westport on Saturday mornings while I slumber, they watch their kids play sports! Lucky for me, I have teenagers that like to sleep late on the weekends. Most of Westport is on the playing fields very bright and early, cheering on their little athletes and seeming pretty happy about it. I attended an eight year old little league game and while it looked wholesome and fun, I still prefer my bed.

By the way, these kids may be young but they are very serious about baseball!

Game over.

The Carnival Comes To Town

The carnival is coming to Westport this weekend and everyone loves a carnival. Well most people love a carnival. There are always a few who are petrified off the oversized metal structures which kind of look like monsters that will swirl you around until you throw up. I shot these pics for those scared little guys. I took away the bright colors and I took away the laughter and left just the metal surfaces so maybe we can see what they imagine.

Southport

There's a little area on the Long Island Sound ten minutes from me called Southport. I don't know much about it except it has about 1500 people and it's darling. (I never use that word descriptively but it just works for Southport). I do know the homes are charming and the local library is wonderful for browsing the shelves or just to admire the architecture. My friends all take part in the annual Southport Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, where the residents line the little lanes to cheer for the runners while sipping hot cider. The weather is brisk and the view is beautiful but unfortunately it starts way to early for me to take pictures of such an event. So here are some pics of darling Southport on a nice spring June day around noon.
