Lights! Camera! Action!

Two aspiring Westport filmmakers, (who are also brothers) asked my father to be in their independent movie they were filming around Westport this week. If you know my father, you would have to know he has quite the ego and was more than pleased to to make his acting debut on the silver screen.
The film is called Ryan Hood. It's the retelling of the classic fairy tale Robin Hood.
From what I saw today, it's unconventional and witty and I can't wait to see the finished product!
Here are a few pics from "the set".

Peter Luger

Today is my birthday! I turned 44 and we celebrated by having dinner at Peter Luger's Steak House in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. If you have never been and you love steak, it's worth the trip. My great great grandfather was very friendly with the owner. I think his drinking stein is still on display!
Here are a few snapshots from the evening.

My only present, pj's from my mom :)

I love these windows

My hubby's favorite. Giant tomato and onion served with Peter Luger's sauce.

Soleil loves a party.

The best in the city!

My family likes their steak rare!

Skyline view of the city taken through the car window while driving home.

By the way, I didn't get a pic of the warm pecan pie and the huge ice cream sundaes both of which came with a bowl of whipped cream! They were devoured way too quickly.
My family always has room for dessert!

Brooklyn & Addison & Dad

My brother's old friend from high school came to visit last week and brought his two adorable little girls with him. Being a divorced but devoted dad hasn't made much time for pictures except for the blurry cell phone pics he proudy displays on facebook. So at the beach, we had a little impromptu photo shoot. Here a few shots from the day.

Turn Around!

The water at Compo was so beautiful this evening. It looked as if it had a purple hue.

It was so beautiful that I forgot to turn around and wound up missing the sunset which must have been spectacular by the looks of the afterglow.

This is Paul (and Ziggy)

Paul is a 9 week old German Short Haired Pointer who I fell in love with. Below is a picture of Ziggy, the German Short Haired Pointer we had growing up with my brother. I still miss Ziggy.

3rd of July

Westport celebrated the Fourth of July this year on the 3rd of July with its annual fireworks display at Compo Beach. I was lucky enough to avoid the crowds and watched the show from a friend's boat on the Sound.

This was Compo Beach tonight

This was me

A cool pic of my hosts watching the show

Happy Independence Day!
