Before The Storm

I was at Compo this afternoon waiting to shoot the impending storm 

when I got a call from my daughter that I had to pick her up right away. 

(Of course when I arrived, there was absolutely no sense of urgency!)

So no storm shots today but I did get one cool image of the clouds closing in.

Turkey Hill Road South

Every now and then when I mention I live in Westport, CT, I'm asked if I live near Martha Stewart. Well Martha Stewart doesn't live here anymore but I do drive down her old block, Turkey Hill Road South quite often. I have no idea which home was hers, but the street is so pretty.

It got me thinking how pretty everything is in Westpoort in the springtime until I saw this in the road!

Luckily I saw this soon after to get that prehistoric reptile off my mind.

Unfortunately on the way home I noticed that old snapping turtle hadn't gotten very far!

40,000 Daffodils

I read an article online the other day about a 96 year old man in Redding, CT who over the years has planted 40,000  daffodils in his back yard. Last year he planted 1447 until he got rained out.  I had to meet this guy! I drove out there around lunch time last saturday and when I pulled up I noticed a small sign on the property that said "Welcome Drive In", so I did. Unfortunately the flower man was not around, but his beautiful work was everywhere!
